Yeah, the season just ended, but Summer League is right around the corner. In less than a week, teams will be competing in Las Vegas, and over the course of ten days, we will get to watch some of the NBA’s brightest young players. Today, the Hawks released their official roster for Summer League, which featured a lot of talent, but one name was absent that was expected to head to Vegas — 21-year-old Cam Reddish.
Reddish missed most of last season with an Achilles injury, but he returned for the Eastern Conference Finals, where he impressed many. There was speculation his absence may be injury related, but it doesn’t appear to be the case. Of course, there were also rumors before the draft that he was included in trade conversations. If there was any truth to those rumors, perhaps the Hawks don’t want to risk him playing in Summer League. Or perhaps his absence is simply because the Hawks feel like he doesn’t need the extra work. I’m sure we will get more answers to that in the coming days.
