The world of sports was rocked Monday afternoon when it was reported Falcons wide receiver Calvin Ridley would be suspended indefinitely for at least the 2022 season for gambling on NFL games during his time away from the team.
As the investigations progress and more information is available, there will be clarity on the entire situation. However, there are bits and pieces coming out. For instance, we now know exactly what Ridley was gambling on. According to Lindsay Jones, he placed three different parlays — 3-, 5-, and 8-legs — and included the Falcons to win. The bets came between November 23-28, which means the wager occurred on Atlanta to beat Jacksonville during their Week 12 matchup.
Per a source informed of the investigation, Ridley placed three parlays (3-, 5- and 8-teams) and bet on the Falcons to win. All of the bets were placed between Nov. 23-28 — the Falcons beat Jacksonville on Nov. 28. All of the bets were via a mobile app in Florida.

The Falcons released a statement on the matter, but there is no official word on how the team will respond to these allegations. Atlanta’s offseason just got a whole lot more interesting. First Julio Jones, now Calvin Ridley; Falcons fans deserve a break.
