The Falcons host the Seahawks for a Week 7 contest, and there aren’t many intriguing storylines.
Seattle is skidding, while Atlanta is soaring. The pair of clubs are led by veteran signal callers and first-year head coaches, but there is one potential storyline that could prove worth following. Byron Murphy has absolutely no love for the Falcons. The Texas product told the Seattle media that the Falcons are going to regret not drafting him.
“I did hear that Atlanta was supposed to draft me,” Murphy said. “I heard rumors about that. But they passed up one, so that’s their fault. That’s a big loss for them. They will feel me Sunday.”
With their abysmal pass rush, the Falcons were connected to Byron Murphy and just about every other defensive lineman projected to go in the first round, including Laiatu Latu, Dallas Turner, Jared Verse, Chop Robinson, etc.
Terry Fontenot and Raheem Morris ended up drafting Michael Penix Jr, but they did try to trade back into the first round for a defensive lineman. The Byron Murphy thing is a big nothing burger, but don’t tell the young man that.
