Braves Country has been spoiled in recent days with the news of Michael Harris‘ extension, Mike Soroka‘s flawless first rehab start and winning eight straight games (before last night’s loss). And now, we’re receiving positive news from Brian Snitker regarding Ozzie Albies‘ injury, as he was seen prior to Wednesday’s game on the field working with Ron Washington.
Brian Snitker said Ozzie Albies is going to go on the next road trip with the Braves to keep ramping up in his progression of doing baseball activities. He’ll soon start taking batting practice. Albies has been working on the field.

Albies seems to be progressing well from the fractured foot, and it won’t be long before he returns for his rehab assignment, but it might be a while before he’s back in Atlanta. The Braves are getting excellent production from Vaughn Grissom, so there’s no sense in the club rushing Albies back. Fans should expect him to return no sooner than the middle of September, but that should be enough time for him to acclimate himself for the stretch run and postseason.
Now, once he returns to the lineup, Brian Snitker will have a difficult decision as to what to do with the roster. He could move Grissom to the outfield or keep him at second and let Ozzie Albies DH; one thing is certain, though, Snit will have an embarrassment of riches. It’ll be up to the skipper to fit the puzzle pieces together.
