In the final moments leading up to the NBA Trade Deadline, the Hawks have struck two deals. It began with De’Andre Hunter going to the Cavs, and now Bogdan Bogdanovic is heading to the Clippers for Terrance Mann and Bones Hyland. Los Angeles will also receive three second-round picks in the trade.

While the De’Andre Hunter trade was a bit of a head-scratcher, Bogdan Bogdanovic being moved was widely expected. He had been a healthy scratch for about two weeks, with the Hawks looking to move the veteran and the remainder of his contract.

Bogdanovic is averaging 10 points and 2 assists per game this season on the worst shooting splits of his career — 37.1% from the field and 30.0% from beyond the arc. However, throughout his five seasons with the Hawks, he’s been one of the most prolific shooters in the league, twice finishing in the top six of the Sixth Man of the Year voting.

As far as the return, Terrance Mann is a decent role player that’s averaged 8.0 points per game on 49.8% shooting from the field and 37.1% from deep. He recently signed a $47 million contract extension with the Clippers and will be under the Hawks control for the next three seasons.

Bones Hyland is another role player that can serve as the backup point guard to Trae Young, an area that’s been a sore spot for the Hawks since Kobe Bufkin’s injury. Over his four-year career, he’s averaged 9.7 points and 2.7 assists per game. Hyland will be a restricted free agent this offseason.
