And just like that, Atlanta has their cleanup hitter.
The Braves and Marcell Ozuna reached an agreement on a 1 year, $18M deal for the 2020 season. Jeff Passan broke the news moments ago.

The deal is a tad shocking, as multiple reports have said that Ozuna preferred a multi-year deal. This just reflects positively on Anthopoulos, showing he can do what needs to be done when moves need to be made. Now, Atlanta has their cleanup hitter without having to shell out the dreaded multi-year contract.
Ozuna slashed .241/.472/.800 in 2019 with 29 HR and 89 RBIs. Ozuna’s presence will add significant power behind Freeman and fill a much-needed slot in the outfield. With spring training just a few weeks away, the Braves look just about ready to take on 2020.
