According to reports, the Braves were in on Jorge Soler until the very end, but he ultimately decided to sign a three-year contract with the Marlins. Most players that sign with a division rival quickly rise to the top of my “most hated” list, but after last year’s performance in the World Series, Soler can do no wrong in my eyes. His three home runs, including the critical go-ahead shot in the series-clinching Game 6, catapulted the Braves to the top of the baseball world.
While his time in Atlanta was short, it was memorable, and he made sure to thank Braves Country on the way out.
A big thank you to the Atlanta Braves organization for allowing me to be a part of your family. Last year was an incredible ride with a perfect ending. I will never forget it. Braves Country, thank you for all the love and support. See you soon ⚾️

I have a feeling Soler is going to be quite the nuisance to face over the next three seasons. That’s usually what former players end up doing to the Braves, but who knows, the Marlins have been known to make a few questionable decisions, including trading players within the division. Perhaps Soler could end up back in Atlanta sooner than we think.
