On the coronavirus front, the Braves received a lot of good news Sunday. Tyler Flowers and Travis d’Arnaud both tested negative again, although neither of them is feeling up to par. And Will Smith, one of the Braves prized acquisitions this offseason, was cleared to rejoin the team after testing positive for the virus weeks ago.

He threw a side session today at Truist Park but will still need some more work before returning to the club. Brian Snitker said that will not happen on the team’s current road trip, which includes two games in Tampa Bay following their rubber match in New York tonight. He also said we probably won’t see him on the next homestand, which is eight games. However, it’s likely Smith makes his Braves debut on the next road trip, which begins on August 7th.
Snitker said Will Smith would not join the team during the current trip that includes three more games, one tonight at NY and two at Tampa Bay. First said next trip likely, but left open possibility he could return during homestand since he's a one-inning guy, not a starter.
