The Braves have had a solid showing from their bullpen so far in 2022. Going into Sunday’s matchup against the Brewers, Atlanta is sporting a 3.24 ERA from relievers, good for 10th in the MLB. Now, they may be getting some extra help in the coming months:
Kirby Yates threw a 25-pitch bullpen session on Friday. He has one more week of throwing only fastballs before he can mix in breaking balls. As of now, he's on track to return around early August. https://t.co/JjY3LP8SOO

Initially, we suspected Yates would be ready around the All-Star Break. That timeline may be a little rich, but you have to think Atlanta is eager to add one of the best closers in the game a few years ago to their staff. Yates had a ridiculous 41 saves to go with a 1.19 ERA in 2019, and if the Braves can get that same guy back coming off of Tommy Johns Surgery, their biggest strength will get even stronger.
