Until the Wild Card Series, Trevor Bauer didn’t have much history with the Braves, but this will be a fun matchup to watch for the foreseeable future. It all started when Bauer guaranteed a win in the series before Game 1 after he was asked who was the tougher out — Freddie Freeman or Marcell Ozuna.
I asked Red Pitcher Trevor Bauer who's a tougher out.. Freddie Freeman or Marcell Ozuna..

His antics continued during Game 1 as he dominated the Braves’ potent lineup, striking out 12 and allowing just 2 hits over 7.2 shutout innings. After one of his strikeouts, he proceeded to show off his best Connor McGregor impression.

He also mocked the Braves’ famous tomahawk chop as he walked off the mound after he was pulled from the game in the eigth inning.

The Braves didn’t seem to make a big deal of it during the series, and I’m glad they didn’t. Baseball is so much better when competitive personalities like Bauer are expressing their emotions. However, once the series was over, Ronald Acuna had to remind him of where he will be watching the remainder of the postseason.
But Bauer clapped back one last time today, reminding the Braves’ phenom of just how dominant he was against them with this video.

This has turned into pure comedy, and I love every bit of it, especially since it doesn’t seem like either side is taking it too personally. Acuna quickly responded to the video laughing.

Hopefully, that means the Braves are still in the Trevor Bauer sweepstakes this offseason, but regardless, this is what baseball needs more of — two of baseball’s best going at it — and I hope we see more of it from all 30 teams moving forward.
