This past weekend was one of those Braves fans would like to completely forget, and the pain didn’t just end at the major-league level. The organization also suffered a critical injury to one of their top prospects, as Braden Shewmake was carted off the field after a nasty collision with Travis Demeritte.
Braden Shewmake was carted off the field last night with a left leg injury after this collision with Travis Demeritte. Reports are he was unconscious while being lifted onto the cart, but regained consciousness before leaving the field.

I’ve yet to see an update on the severity of the injury, but it certainly looks like it could be season-ending.
According to MLB Pipeline, Braden Shewmake is the Braves #4 prospect. He’s hitting .259 on the season with seven homers for the Stripers.
