Shane Greene was recently released by the Dodgers, but it didn’t take him long to find a new home. It was announced yesterday that he signed with the Yankees and his been assigned to their AAA squad.

Greene performed admirably for the Braves in 2020, but it didn’t result in the multi-year contract he was looking for. He held out until after the 2021 season started before eventually re-signing with the Braves. However, the deal didn’t work out for either party. He posted an 8.47 ERA in 19 appearances, leading to his release. He was picked up by the Dodgers later in the year and remained with him until they released him last week. Greene’s only appeared once in the majors this season, tossing two scoreless innings in relief. Hopefully, he can latch on with the Yankees. It wasn’t long ago that he was an All-Star closer for the Yankees.
