The Braves have lost three in a row, and things haven’t looked much better tonight with Yonny Chirinos on the mound. It’s been frustrating, but the night got ten times worse when Ronald Acuña Jr. was plunked right on the elbow with a 97 MPH sinker, resulting in him quickly exiting the game.

That’s not the best spot to be hit by a pitch, especially one in the high-90s. Thankfully, he was wearing an elbow guard to soften the blow, but at that speed, sometimes it isn’t enough.
Acuña will undergo further testing. We should get an update tonight, and we’ll relay that information as it comes to light.
UPDATE:
Acuña underwent X-Rays, which came back negative.

Hopefully, it was nothing more than a stinger that caused him to go numb for a bit, but how much time he will miss will likely depend on how it heals up overnight. Regardless, it appears like the Braves avoided disaster.
