It initially appeared Ronald Acuña Jr. could be headed for an extended IL stint after fouling a ball off of his foot. Thankfully, he avoided any fractures, but Acuña still arrived riding a scooter the next day and didn’t fly with the team to Philadelphia.
However, according to Brian Snitker, Acuña has made substantial progress since yesterday and will arrive in Philadelphia before Thursday’s game. There’s no word yet on whether he will play, but the prognosis looks promising.
Snitker said Acuña made “significant strides” in recovery from bruised foot and that he’ll be in Philly on Thursday, though they’re uncertain yet if he’ll play that night’s series finale. Sounds like good chance, though.

At the very least, we can expect Acuña back in the lineup at some point this weekend against the Reds.
