Braves: Ronald Acuna Jr. comments on injury scare

There isn’t a better player in baseball than Ronald Acuna Jr. right now. The Braves superstar is back to his pre-injury antics of smashing 450-foot bombs and dancing around the bases, beating his chest with an ear-to-ear grin. He’s a spectacle and will run away with the MVP… if he can remain healthy.

In the second game of a doubleheader against the Mets, Acuna took an 0-2 fastball off his shoulder and went down, riving in pain. Eventually, he walked off the field and straight into the dugout.

Braves Country breathed a collective sigh of relief when the club announced it was just a bruise, then again when the lineup card was released with one Ronald Acuna Jr. listed as the leadoff batter.

And before Tuesday’s contest against the Marlins in Miami, the media got to chat with him about the injury:

Thankfully, it seems like it was a stinger that got Acuna just right because there’s no chance the Braves would risk furthering the injury. They are one of the most cautious clubs when it comes to injuries, especially with the best player on the team.

Ronald Acuna Jr. will once again lead the Braves off in what should be a fun evening against one of the best arms in baseball in Sandy Alcántara.
