In a piece of news from the weekend that I’m sure nobody will overreact to, Ronald Acuña Jr. and his brothers have officially changed agencies.
Ronald Acuña Jr. has changed agents, hiring Magnus Sports, a source tells @TheAthletic. His brothers, Luisangel, 20, the Rangers’ No. 7 prospect per @MLBPipeline; and Bryan, 17, a Twins prospect, are also joining Magnus, as is his cousin Maikel García, the Royals’ No. 5 prospect.

With all the recent bogus rumors that have suggested that Ronald Acuña is unhappy with his current contract, this news couldn’t have come at a more inopportune time. However, it doesn’t mean much.
Acuña was previously represented by Peter E. Greenberg, who negotiated the contract extension he signed with the Braves a few years ago — a deal everyone refers to as one of the most team-friendly in baseball. Greenberg and Associates was recently bought out by Rep 1 baseball in 2020, which is most likely the reason for the switch.
I’m sure Acuña has one hundred people in his ear telling him how abysmal the contract he signed is for him, but at the end of the day, that’s all on him. The Braves weren’t holding his toes to the fire forcing him to sign anything, so if he’s upset, there’s nobody to blame but himself. With that being said, to my knowledge, he’s perfectly content with where he is at, and the Braves have made it clear that they won’t be trading him or any other player they have inked to a long-term extension.
