Brian Snitker had some good and bad news on the injury front ahead of today’s series opener against the Mets. The bad news, Austin Riley’s season is over. He had a CT scan on his fractured wrist, and it isn’t healing fast enough for him to return, even if the Braves make the playoffs. The good news, Reynaldo Lopez moved from long toss to the bullpen today and appears to be nearing a return if he’s needed.
#Braves RHP Reynaldo Lopez threw this afternoon in the bullpen. He's been on the shelf for two weeks and is eligible to come off IL on Thursday.

Reynaldo Lopez has been dealing with shoulder soreness, but he’s eligible to come off the IL as early as Thursday, meaning he could potentially pitch one of the Braves final four games of the season.
I’m not sure the Braves will want to rush Reynaldo Lopez back that quickly, however, and I’m also not sure he would be the best option to start a winner-take-all type game after not pitching for a couple of weeks. With that being said, if Brian Snitker’s bunch can finish the season strong and make the playoffs, getting Reynaldo Lopez back for October would be a huge boost.
