I would say this is really starting to get frustrating and ridiculous, but it has been that way for a really long time.

According to Ken Rosenthal, the Braves were very much in on Trevor Rosenthal, but Liberty Media is pinching pennies.
Even though Ozuna’s deal is backloaded, the Braves are down to less than $5 million of payroll flexibility in ‘21, according to a source with knowledge of the team’s thinking. Club officials do not want to get caught in a budget crunch the way that they did last season, when their only addition at the trade deadling was left-handed pitcher Tommy Milone. But they were willing to stretch on the upside of Rosenthal
Thank god I’m a fan of one of the cheapest franchises in professional sports. These guys own parts of Formula 1 and Sirius XM along with the Braves and refuse to pay to put a competitive team on the field with a championship window open. It appears Atlanta may be out on Shane Greene at this point, as ownership is hamstringing Alex Anthopoulos’ budget. Just sell the team to Arthur Blank already.
