I’ve talked about it several times leading up to the offseason, so this should come as no surprise, but Adam Duvall has declined his side of the mutual option, which would have paid him $7 million next season.
Per sources Adam Duvall has declined his side of his mutual option for 2022. No surprise. He is Arb Eligible, Braves can tender him by 12/2. 38 HR & NL best 113 RBI for Miami and Atlanta. 4th in MLB in DRS with 19.

But there is no need to worry, Braves fans. Duvall is still under team control as he enters his last year of arbitration. MLB Trade Rumors has his projected arb salary set at $9.1 million. Expect Alex Anthopoulos to attempt to negotiate a figure less than that, but either way, Duvall should be in Atlanta next season. He’s too valuable, and the Braves already have a first-hand account of what letting him walk leads to.
