After a 26-year drought, your Atlanta Braves are World Series champions. There were so many memorable moments through Atlanta’s postseason run, and I just couldn’t help but relive them in this piece.
I went to the NLDS Game 4 when Freddie Freeman delivered a solo home run in the eighth inning off Josh Hader to advance to the Leauge Championship Series. I went to Game 2 of the NLCS when Eddie Rosario walked off, capping off a come-back win. I went to Game 6 of the NLCS when Tyler Matzek came on with runners on second and third with no outs and was able to strike out the side.
Finally, I went to Game 4 of the World Series, where Atlanta’s lineup was primarily held in check until Dansby Swanson hit a home run in the bottom of the seventh, and Jorge Soler followed it up with a sharp hit ball to left that just cleared the fence — the back-to-back blasts turned a 2-1 deficit into a 3-2 victory.
Those are just my personal experiences, but Braves Country has a million more. This team provided so much happiness for so many people, and now, these memories will live forever in living rooms and closets across the country as the team announced the release date for the Braves’ gold trim World Series gear.
