Bleacher Report released their pre-season MLB Power Rankings, and the Braves were the top-ranked team in the National League, clocking in a second overall, behind only last year’s World Series champions.

I’ll be coming up with my own pre-season MLB power rankings as we inch closer to the season, but spoiler alert, my top two will be the exact same.
My bias would love to put the Braves #1, but until someone dethrones the Astros, Houston should own the top spot, and not just because of what they did last season. The Astros have been to six straight American League Championship Series, four of the last six World Series, and won two championships over that span. They are the franchise everybody is chasing, even if the Braves are a close second.
The Mets at #3 is fine, even if I believe the Padres are the biggest threat to the Braves in the National League. I’m not as high on the Yankees as most entering the season, but putting them at #4 isn’t egregious.
The Dodgers clocking in at #7 is eye-popping. They’ve been the cream of the crop of the National League for a decade, but it’s impossible to ignore their lack of action this offseason. With that being said, would it surprise anyone if they finished with the best record in the NL again?
