Who knows how this upcoming series with the Mets will go, but no matter the result, the Braves will at least be a much healthier team this week than they were last week. First and foremost, Mike Soroka is set to begin his rehab assignment on Tuesday in High-A Rome.Â
I have my doubts about Soroka contributing to the Braves this season, but regardless, it’s still tear-jerking to see him back on the mound and pitching again in a game that actually counts. These next players, however, will have an immediate impact on the major-league club.
According to Brian Snitker, both Ronald Acuña and Travis d’Arnaud will be in the starting lineup tonight against the Mets. On top of that, Max Fried, who is currently on the 7-day concussion IL, will pitch at some point by the end of the week.
Brian Snitker just told us :
1} Max Fried expected to pitch by end of week
2}Travis d'Arnaud will play tonight
3} Acuña in lineup tonight#Braves #BeatTheMets— Sandra Golden (@sportsandra) August 15, 2022
Hopefully, that start comes on Thursday against the Mets, who are scheduled to pitch Jacob DeGrom in the series finale. For more of my thoughts on a critical week for the Braves, check out my latest video on TikTok or Twitter.
