The Braves just announced they have recalled Bryse Wilson from AAA Gwinnett. He will start tonight’s series opener against the Blue Jays.
The #Braves today recalled RHP Bryse Wilson from Triple-A @GoStripers. Wilson is scheduled to start tonight’s game vs. Toronto.

The Braves were hoping Wilson would pick up right where he left off in 2020, shutting down the Dodgers in the NLCS, but it hasn’t worked out that way. In his first three starts of 2021, he gave up nine earned runs and 18 hits in just 12 innings — good for a 6.75 ERA and an unsightly 1.917 WHIP — resulting in a demotion back to Gwinnett.
However, Wilson did perform well in his one outing with the Stripers, tossing five scoreless and allowing just four hits and one walk to go along with five strikeouts. Hopefully, that’s a sign of things to come because the Braves are in desperate need of some more reliable starting pitchers.
