Yesterday, Braves star centerfielder Michael Harris II began his rehab assignment in Gwinnett, going 1-for-3 with a single and a stolen base. Today, Raisel Iglesias will be joining him as he begins his rehab assignment.

It’s pretty comical that Harris’ hit last night was actually his first ever hit at the AAA level because he skipped Gwinnett entirely last season to make his MLB debut for the Braves and never looked back. Given he didn’t miss too much time with a back injury, I don’t expect him to be in Gwinnett for much longer. It wouldn’t surprise me if he is on the plane with the team to New York for this weekend’s series against the Mets.
Raisel Iglesias will probably spend a little more time in Gwinnett than Harris. He missed Spring Training with shoulder inflammation and hasn’t pitched in a live game since last year’s postseason. Atlanta’s upcoming series in New York is important, but Iglesias’ health is a much bigger priority. They are not going to rush him, but the Braves closer could be back sometime next week.
