The Braves outfield will look much different tonight than it did before the trade deadline.
Atlanta is expected to bring Michael Harris II back from the 60-day injured list and will designate Adam Duvall, Eli White, or Ramon Laureano for assignment. That will give the Braves a much different outfield compared to a few weeks ago.
Going into the trade deadline, the Braves were trotting out a combination of Jarred Kelenic, Eddie Rosario, Duvall, and Laureano. Now, it’ll be Harris, Jorge Soler, and a platoon combination in left field.
That’s a stark difference, and one of those old friends has popped back up with the Braves’ rivals. Yesterday, 2021 NLCS hero Eddie Rosario inked a minor league deal with the Mets.

Rosario has now spent time with three clubs from the NL East this season. He began the year with the Nationals and then joined the Braves after he was designated for assignment.
In 91 total games with Atlanta and Washington, Rosario batted .175 with a .215 OBP, hitting just 10 home runs and driving in 35 runs. Obviously, Rosario is best known for his heroics during the 2021 postseason. His playoff numbers were legendary. In 16 games, Rosario slashed .383/.456/.617 with three home runs and 11 RBIs.
The Braves and Mets are in a tight postseason race as we speak. Atlanta sits 2.0 games ahead of New York right now, but any hot stretch from either club could put it out of reach for the other.
The Mets already have a crowded outfield at the Major League level, so it’s unlikely that Eddie Rosario will even make an appearance with the big league club unless injuries arise.
