The Braves broadcast team will look much different in 2023. Most notably, longtime play-by-play announcer Chip Caray has moved on to St. Louis in the same role. He will be covering the Cardinals for the foreseeable future. Brandon Gaudin will be taking his place after covering numerous sports for Fox Sports in the past. He’s also been the voice of Madden since 2017 and is a die-hard Braves fan to the core, which should add some excitement to the broadcast.
Beyond that, it was also revealed Tom Glavine, who was not a part of the broadcast team last year due to personal matters, will be returning this season, while a couple of familiar faces will not be back. Here’s the full Braves broadcast team set for the 2023 season.

The two key members missing are Paul Byrd and Brian Jordan. Byrd was a favorite among Braves fans, but before people freak out, it was his decision to leave for personnel reasons. Jordan also decided not to be a part of the Braves broadcast team after being asked to come back.
Paul Byrd is stepping away for personal reasons, with no timetable for a return.
Bally Sports was interested in bringing back Brian Jordan, but he chose not to return in 2023. https://t.co/LUlxtdPiz5

From Toscano’s report, it sounds like the door is open for Byrd to return. Hopefully, the issues he’s dealing with in his personal life aren’t too serious, and he can rejoin the broadcast at some point in the near future. His antics add some much-needed humor to the broadcast, and he offers a unique perspective from a pitcher’s point of view.
