As a part of the Braves’ flurry of rosters moves today, Pablo Sandoval’s contract was selected. He will be on the Opening Day roster, but the team decided to release Jason Kipnis in a corresponding move.
The #Braves today selected the contract of INF Pablo Sandoval, designated OF Phillip Ervin for assignment, and released INF Jason Kipnis.

Sandoval has been arguably the Braves’ best bat during the spring, racking up 15 hits in just 35 at-bats. His veteran presence will be a welcome presence on Atlanta’s bench. Kipnis had a decent spring, but he was simply beaten out at the end of the day. Surely, another competing team will give him an opportunity.
We’ll keep you updated with the rest of the upcoming roster moves as the Braves continue to trim their group down to 26 men.
