Ozzie Albies has undoubtedly been a big part of this Braves offense since he made his major league debut, and while he currently leads all NL Second Basemen in All-Star voting, he still doesn’t get enough shine from baseball fans. The casual fan may scoff at his .257 batting average, but his overall production is much more telling:
Ozzie Albies' outstanding last 162 games for the @Braves:
47 doubles
10 triples*
27 homers100 RBI, 100 runs scored
53 walks, 126 strikeouts
.280 batting average
.337 on-base percentage
.509 slugging percentage*one of just 2 players in MLB with 10+ triples in last 162

Albies’ quickly rising .822 OPS is a better sign of just how much he’s meant to the Braves, and he is a straight up spark-plug in this lineup. If any player was posting these numbers over a full season, they would be a prime candidate for a Silver Slugger award. The thing is, Braves fans know that Albies has been this guy for a long time. He is one of the most exciting players in baseball, and although his teammate Ronald Acuña Jr. gets a majority of the shine, Albies is almost equally as electric. He is easily the best contract in baseball, and despite some of the Braves offensive struggles this season, he’s the type of bat that makes this lineup deadly anytime he is at the plate.
Hopefully, the Braves get to clicking soon, because Ronald Acuña is playing at an MVP level — while Ozzie Albies isn’t too far behind.
