Yesterday, it was announced that Ozzie Albies was selected as a reserve for the NL All-Star team, joining Ronald Acuña and Freddie Freeman, who were both voted in as starters.

It’s a well-deserve second All-Star nomination for Albies, who continues to be one of the most under appreciated stars in the game. After a forgetful 2020 (for his standards) and a super slow start to 2021, Albies has been nothing short of sensational since late April. Over that 66 game stretch, he’s hitting .290 with 13 homers, five triples, and 19 doubles, resulting in an .896 OPS. Albies is also as consistent as any second baseman with the glove and has swiped 13 bags as well. His nomination gives the Braves at least three All-Stars for the third consecutive time.
