The Braves revealed they would be skipping Kyle Wright’s spot in the rotation after yesterday’s game was postponed. Now, they have decided to option him to Gwinnett, and in a corresponding move, they activated reliever Chris Martin from the IL.

That still leaves room on the active roster for the Braves to call up a pitcher to start in place of Wright. Remember, Atlanta also optioned Bryse Wilson to Gwinnett late last night.
The Braves have had a no-nonsense approach to their starting rotation. They DFA’d Mike Foltynewicz after just one start, and Sean Newcomb followed him not long after. Unfortunately, it hasn’t panned out for them, as their young arms have continuously let them down. It now appears like Wright has run out of opportunities, and Toussaint could be next. The Braves finally look to be prepared to give some of their other highly-touted prospects an opportunity.
