It’s funny how quickly we go from one thing to the next in sports. The Rangers just defeated the Diamondbacks in Game 5 of the World Series, clinching their first title in franchise history. But not even 24 hours have passed, and gambling outlets have already released their World Series odds for 2024, with the Braves leading the pack.

These are going to change a ton based on how the offseason shakes out, but the top five teams should be the clear favorites heading into next season. They have the least amount of question marks on their current roster and all feature front offices that are willing to spend in free agency.
However, baseball is a random spot, as we saw this postseason, so some of the best value bets are much further down the board. I’m looking at a team like the Seattle Mariners at 20/1. They already have the pitching staff to compete for a World Series and they finished just behind the Rangers in the standings. Seattle is already on the same level as Texas and Houston, and I expect them to be big-game hunting this offseason. The AL West is going to be a bloodbath next year, and it wouldn’t surprise me one bit if the representative of the American League in the World Series was the Seattle Mariners.
