Braves: MLB elects to move the All-Star game out of Atlanta

Vaughn Grissom

The MLB All-Star Game is one of the best experiences for any baseball fan, and for the city of Atlanta, this is something that has been marked on the calendar for years. But unfortunately, Major League Baseball has elected to move the event out of the city due to the recent voter registration laws passed by Governor Kemp in Georgia. The decision was announced just moments ago.

On several levels, this is extremely disheartening. The All-Star festivities are something every baseball fan should get a chance to enjoy, and the fact that politics are robbing Atlanta and their fans of this opportunity is sickening. No matter what side of the fence you’re on, it’s becoming ridiculous how these things are trickling into the sports world — a place that is supposed to bring people of all different ethnicities and mindsets together. I hope, for the city’s sake, the All-Star Game can return to Atlanta in the near future, but I’m not optimistic it will happen.
