Grant McAuley of the Braves Radio Network caught an interview with Alex Anthopoulos on MLB Network Radio, who broke some news regarding the progress of Mike Soroka. According to McAuley, Soroka has been participating in bullpens, and his arm may be ready for Opening Day. However, the Braves (rightfully) could choose to be cautious and begin the year with him on the Injured List.
Alex Anthopoulos was on @MLBNetworkRadio's Front Office and provided an update on Mike Soroka. Has been throwing bullpens @ Truist Park. His arm should be ready for ST but #Braves may place him on IL to start season in order to make sure the Achilles is 100%. Still time to decide

When it was announced in October that Soroka was aiming to be back for the beginning of the 2021 season, I was pretty shocked. Returning from a torn Achilles injury that fast (the injury occurred in early August) is almost unheard of, but so far, it seems like he’s right on track.
The Braves aren’t stupid. They’ve always been extremely cautious when it comes to their injured players, and that certainly will not change with one of their young superstars. If Soroka makes an appearance in the Braves first series of the season, you can bet he is 100%.
