Coming back from an Achilles injury is tough, but coming back from one in roughly eight months is downright ridiculous.
Mike Soroka is back

Achilles injuries usually take around a year to recover from, but Maple Maddux was back out there tossing a few innings in the final spring training game. Soroka finished the day with 2 IP, 2 H, 1 ER, 2 BB, and 2 K. Soroka’s one earned run was a Jarren Duran solo shot, so Mike didn’t work himself into much trouble.
I wrote about what the opening day roster will look like here, and Soroka will likely begin a rehab assignment next week before potentially rejoining the team in mid-April at the earliest. It’s incredible how tough this guy is, and I couldn’t be more proud of his resiliency. You could make the argument that the Braves would have won the 2020 World Series without Soroka’s injury in August. Welcome back Mike, let’s get this ring.

The Braves finished the spring with a 15-13 record and will play the Phillies at Citizen’s Bank Park on April 1st at 3:05 PM.
