Mike Foltynewicz was not interrupted by rain in his third rehab start in Gwinnett, allowing him to throw the 85 pitches the Braves were looking for before calling him up. However, the way he pitched did not instill enough confidence in the organization to bring him to Atlanta just yet. The Braves’ Ace only made it through 3 2/3 innings, giving up six hits and four earned runs.
Gabe Burns of the AJC informed us the Braves would be keeping the fireballer in Gwinnett for at least another week.
Mike Foltynewicz will make another rehab start this weekend.

The positive news: Folty hasn’t suffered any setbacks. The Braves are right not to rush him into things. They have plenty of arms currently working in the rotation and in AAA that are ready. Touki Toussaint is presently scheduled to pitch Thursday and Julio Teheran on Friday, but that might change with Folty no longer in the cards this week. He would have thrown in Atlanta on Saturday. According to Mark Bowman, the Braves might opt to push back Toussaint and Teheran a day and start Mike Soroka in the series finale versus the Diamondbacks on Thursday.
