The Braves suffered another injury last night, and this one may be the most worrisome of them all. Kyle Wright re-aggravated his shoulder that he was rehabbing all offseason. He wanted to continue in last night’s game, but Brian Snitker and Rick Kranitz would now allow him, which was the correct decision. World Series are not won in May, and the Braves are going to need Wright if they want to accomplish their ultimate goal.
With Wright out for the foreseeable future, Atlanta will need to find a replacement. Dylan Dodd will get the opportunity to audition this afternoon against Miami. If he has success, I imagine they will roll with him for the time being, but there’s no doubt about who is next in line unless the Braves make a move — Michael Soroka.
On the latest episode of SportsTalkATL, we discuss Wright’s injury, the timetable for his return, and his potential replacement.
