Braves: Michael Harris reportedly had setback in his attempt to return

Braves record

There may not be a team in the history of baseball that has been struck by more critical injuries than the 2024 Atlanta Braves, and this latest report will only frustrate fans even more.

Yesterday, it was announced that Michael Harris has been moved from the 10-day IL to the 60-day IL, meaning he will miss at least three more weeks. That’s a little longer than originally anticipated, and today, we found out why. Harris reportedly felt some soreness as he was increasing his running activities.

It’s yet another tough pill to swallow for the Braves, who seem to have found themselves amid a nightmare on the injury front. I’ve never once seen so many All-Star caliber players miss this much significant time. Every week, it seems like another critical piece hits the IL, sometimes multiple, as was the case this week with Max Fried and Ozzie Albies.

The good news, as far as Harris is concerned, is the Braves centerfielder is still on track to return later this season. At this point, all the Braves can ask for is to sneak into the playoffs and hope some of their stars can get healthy when it matters most.
