Atlanta continues to churn out talented outfield prospects, and it looks like Drew Waters and Michael Harris will get to show their stuff in Denver on July 11th at this year’s Futures Game.
Cool to see Michael Harris II will be participating in this year's Futures Game. Drew Waters will also represent the Braves. Former Braves on the NL coaching staff are Vinny Castilla (Mgr), Andruw Jones (hitting coach), Marvin Freeman (bullpen coach) and Jerry Royster (1B coach)

Harris was just named Player of the Month for Rome, and he deserved it after a red hot May. Harris led all of High-A in batting average (.360) and hits (32). He added 15 runs batted in and 13 runs in 22 games, which is downright impressive. Harris has kept it up for the season, posting a .805 OPS with eight doubles, four triples, and two home runs. We’ve been pretty high on Harris for a while on our site, and his five-tool potential should have Braves fans very excited.
Drew Waters feels like he’s inching closer and closer towards the majors. I talked about how he’s probably not quite ready for the show, but he’s been tearing up AAA pitching. He has cooled off a bit, but in 2021, Waters is posting a .682 OPS with six doubles, three home runs, and 12 stolen bases. Waters is still striking out at a high rate, but he is still only 22 and way ahead of schedule playing in AAA.
Congrats to both of these guys; they absolutely deserve it.
