The Braves fell in two of three games to the Cardinals over the weekend as the Mets took three of four against the Rockies. Atlanta currently trails New York in the NL East race by 3.0 games as both clubs enter an off-day on Monday. However, over the weekend, the two teams did something that they hadn’t done since the All-Star break — lost their respective matchups on the same day.
The Mets were 10-0 on days the Braves lost, and Atlanta was 11-0 on the opposite. However, both teams lost their respective matchups on Sunday.
The Mets and Atlanta haven't lost on the same day since the All-Star break. The Mets are 10-0 on days when Atlanta loses (including one off-day), and Atlanta is 11-0 on days the Mets lose.

It feels like the race of the NL East is going to be a photo finish. Both clubs have extremely favorable schedules to end the season, but the Mets is undoubtedly softer. It may come down to the wire as the pair square off in the second-to-last series of the season in Atlanta. The Braves might have to sweep the Metropolitans in that series if they want to be crowned NL East champions for the fifth-straight year.
