Multiple Braves beat writers have done nothing but report positive things in regards to Max Fried‘s hamstring injury. He’s well on the way to returning, and today, it was revealed he has begun throwing off of a mound.
Max Fried (hamstring) is throwing off a mound now. Next tests will be running and fielding his position.

That’s a massive step in the right direction. However, when it comes to soft tissue injuries like a hamstring, running and fielding will be the ultimate test. Until he passes that, he won’t return, but the fact that he’s already throwing tells me he’s probably around a week or two away from pitching for the Braves again.
Bowman also provided us with the latest update on Raisel Iglesias. He’s been playing catch and everything feels normal, but he’s yet to throw off the mound, and there’s no timetable for his return.
Iglesias (shoulder) says he has felt good playing catch the last few days. He still doesn’t know when he’ll begin throwing off a mound.

Of all the Braves injuries, it feels like Iglesias is the furthest away from being back with the club. Shoulder issues are nothing to mess around with, and the Braves want to make sure their closer is 100% the rest of the way.
