Max Fried had a slow start to 2021, and some fans were questioning if his 2020 season would be an outlier from what he would be going forward. However, like always, Max Fried has shown up and dominated the second half of the season:

The Braves have gotten a pretty strong effort from their starting staff all season long, but Fried has only caught on more recently. He was pitching well before some blisters sidelined him, then he was up and down until the All-Star Break. This has been his progression over the season:
April 2021: 11.0 IP, 11.45 ERA, 2.55 WHIP, .426 BA
May 2021: 24.0 IP, 1.50 ERA, 1.00 WHIP, .183 BA
June 2021: 27.2 IP, 3.58 ERA, 1.08 WHIP, .220 BA
July 2021: 29.0 IP, 4.66 ERA, 1.41 WHIP, .272 BA
Hopefully, August Max Fried is here to stay down the stretch, as he has typically been dominant in the fall. The Braves will need all the help they can get as the schedule gets tougher as they fight to win their fourth straight division title.
