Yesterday, Matt Olson clobbered his 21st home run of the season in the Braves 4-2 win over the Phillies. He now has the third-most home runs in all of baseball and is deserving of his second All-Star appearance.
However, a funny moment occurred in an interview with Foul Territory prior to Tuesday night’s contest. Olson was asked about fan advice in regards to his performance. To which he responded that he is aware of fans talking about how he needs to shorten his swing in order to avoid strikeouts. Thankfully, he will not be taking any advice from Twitter.

Olson currently leads the league in strikeouts, so I understand the frustration from some fans, but he’s also on pace for nearly 50 home runs. Sometimes, you have to take the good with the bad, and I can live with Olson striking out 200+ times as long as he’s blasting 45+ homers every season. He’s been a fantastic addition to the Braves, and I’m not sure we’ve even seen him at his best over his first year-and-a-half with the team.
