It’s nice to see Marcell Ozuna finally getting some national recognition for once, as he’s been named NL Player of the Week after hitting five home runs to the tune of a .464 average.
Your @chevrolet Players of the Week:
NL: Marcell Ozuna, .464 AVG, 5 HR, 13 RBI, 1.674 OPS
AL: Lourdes Gurriel Jr., .467 AVG, 5 XBH, 6 RBI, 1.282 OPS pic.twitter.com/9c5J2TtocH— MLB (@MLB) September 8, 2020
Ozuna’s three home-run game against the Red Sox may have been enough to earn him this honor, but the 13 RBIs and 1.674 OPS are just ridiculous. He has certainly given Atlanta a lot to think about in terms of an extension, and if the DH remains in the NL, he’s going to be a very rich man this winter.
