The good news is the Braves won their fourth straight game on Tuesday, defeating the Red Sox 3-1 behind another strong performance from Charlie Morton. The bad news is Marcell Ozuna suffered two dislocated fingers while sliding into third base.

As you can see in the tweet from David O’Brien, Ozuna will return to Atlanta and see a hand specialist to determine how much time he will miss. The injury sounds gruesome, and I’m sure it hurt, but the Braves really did avoid catastrophe here. Had the finger been broken, Ozuna could be looking at multiple months on the IL. Dislocated fingers generally tend to heal quickly, and the Braves believe he might be able to avoid a stint on the IL altogether.
