Of course, Ronald Acuña Jr. will eventually be moved to the 60-day IL and miss the rest of the season. J.P. Martinez has been added to the active roster to give the Braves some more outfield depth. We’ll see how Brian Snitker chooses to allocate the at-bats. It’s possible we see a lot of Jarred Kelenic and Adam Duvall playing together, or perhaps we even get a glimpse of Marcell Ozuna playing in the outfield again. There’s no great solution right now, and it won’t be easy for Alex Anthopoulos to find one this early in the season.
Sean Murphy rejoining the team is a welcomed addition on an otherwise melancholy day for Braves Country. He will be a massive boost for a lineup that desperately needed one, and his presence behind the plate for the pitching staff cannot be understated.
