The Braves made an early season trade! Sending Luis Guillorme to the Angels for what I assume to be cash considerations.
The Los Angeles #Angels are acquiring INF Luis Guillorme from the Atlanta #Braves, sources tell @ElExtrabase.
Guillorme, 29, signed a 1-year / $1.1M deal with Atlanta during the offseason.
He’s only appeared in 9 regular season games so far.

Guillorme signed a one-year pact with the Braves during the offseason to be their backup utility infielder. He saw some burn when Ozzie Albies hit the IL for 10 days but did not play outside of that, and that was going to continue to be the case unless someone were to get injured.
I imagine David Fletcher will take his spot on the 26-man roster, but more notably, moving him opens up a spot on the 40-man roster. I’ve been speculating the Braves might add Ken Giles to their bullpen over the last couple of weeks. He’s not currently on the 40-man roster, but this trade makes room for him. I wonder if he’ll be receiving a call soon to come to Atlanta.
