The Braves selected RHP Tanner Andrews with their final selection of the Minor League portion of the 2021 Rule 5 Draft. I hope he didn’t sign an apartment lease, because he’s probably headed to the Giants.
The Braves have already traded one of their picks from Wednesday’s minor league Rule 5 draft.
RHP Tanner Andrews, who was drafted in the 4th round from the Marlins, was dealt to the SF Giants. No announcement was made but he’s likely the PTBNL for Jay Jackson.

This is a good point by Matt, and I have to agree with him. With no news of any player returning to the Braves, it’s likely Andrews was used to complete the Jay Jackson trade that was initiated on November 22nd.
Jackson was drafted back in 2008 out of Furman, and he has primarily been a career minor-leaguer. He did appear for the Giants in 2021, posting a respectable 3.74 ERA and 4.05 FIP over 21.2 innings pitched. Jackson had a few hiccup games, but he only gave up more than one earned run twice over 23 appearances. He’s a quality pickup. I’m not sure what Jackson’s role will be, but he can be valuable depth in Gwinnett at worst.
