During the middle of the Braves game versus the Nationals today, the team dropped some unfortunate news. Luke Jackson underwent successful surgery on his injured UCL.

Obviously, the successful surgery isn’t the unfortunate part; the fact that Jackson had to have Tommy John Surgery is. The Braves will now be without one of their most effective relievers for the rest of the season. Jackson likely won’t pitch again until the middle of 2023.
While the Braves will miss the sliderman, it’s even more unfortunate for Jackson, who is set to hit free agency at the end of the season. We may have seen the last of him in a Braves uniform, and if it is, I hope most sane fans realize just how much he’s done for the team over the years.
