After Braves Country received some pretty devastating news regarding Tyler Matzek undergoing Tommy John surgery, we received a bit of positive news from Luke Jackson, who took to Twitter to confirm he threw for the first time in six months.
Got to throw for the first time in 6 months and dang was that fun! Now time for a braves W and a happy flight! #BravesCountryLetsRide

In April, Jackson underwent UCL surgery, effectively ending his season. Despite some pretty tumultuous days in Atlanta, Jackson was incredibly effective for the club last season. Some fans only remember the heartaches, but the sane ones should remember him for how much he’s done for the Braves over the years.
Jackson is set to hit free agency this offseason, so it’s a very real possibility we’ve seen the last of him in a Braves uniform. But the last time we saw him was the best of his career, posting a 1.98 ERA over 63.2 innings in 2021. He was an important piece of the World Series run and will always be remembered as a champion at SportsTalkATL.
