It was expected, but the Braves made it official today, adding Kyle Wright to the 15-day Injured List. In a corresponding move, Nick Anderson has been added to the Opening Day roster.
The #Braves today recalled RHP Nick Anderson to Atlanta and placed RHP Kyle Wright on the 15-day injured list with right shoulder inflammation.

The Braves announced last week that Wright would not be starting the season in Atlanta. He needs to continue ramping up his workload before he’s added to the rotation.
However, this move does give us more of a timetable for when he might return to the Braves. Wright will miss at least the first couple of turns through the rotation. I would even go as far as to say as he will miss a third. He only threw around 25 pitches last time out, and Opening Day is three days away. Wright will need to up that number to 80+ before the Braves bring him back to Atlanta.
Anderson will take Kyle Wright’s place, and he rightfully deserves a spot on the roster. The plan was for him to begin the season in Gwinnett because he had options, but with Raisel Iglesias also starting the season on the IL, Anderson gets the nod. He’s a pitcher with a ton of upside, so don’t be surprised if the Braves utilize him in high-leverage situations right out of the gate.
